Overheard in a medical practice waiting room as a doctor is walking his patient out:
Doctor: "It is very important to get out of the house and stay social, even if it's just going to the shops. It doesn't have to be an organized activity, although those do often have the highest cognitive benefit."
Elderly Patient: "Well, I'm a very Christian woman, doctor, the Lord is my guide and if he feels I should do something then he tells me. He directs my life, I'm just along for the ride"
Doctor: "In that case I think you're going to be easier to treat than I'd thought!"

I have a great fondness for my mother's housekeeper Genevieve, who is a passionate Seventh Day Adventist and who never stops talking about her personal relationship with Jesus.
My two favourite examples:
1. She is a good looking woman who enjoys showing off her figure, so I compliment her on the red gingham blouse she is wearing. She says:
"Well you see, I pray every time before I go shopping. I say ;"Dear Lord, you know my financial circumstances are limited. So guide me to something flattering and not too expensive", and last time I did that this lovely gingham thing popped out at me. Normally I don't wear red, but I said "Lord if it pleases you to have me in a red blouse, then your will be done and so I bought it."
2. My mother: "Would you like some salad?"
Genevieve: "No, thank you. Salad doesn't agree with me nowadays. I couldn't figure out why for ages, but then Jesus told me "Vinegear, Genevieve, vineagear."
Nina, those are hilarious!!!!
Great article and right to the point. I don’t know if this is in fact the best place to ask but do you people have any ideea where to employ some professional writers? Thank you
